Soft Surroundings Background

I love coloring with alcohol markers. It has been my favorite medium for a very long time because the blending capabilites you have with the colors. I still use up whatever ink I have left in my blendabilities, but since Stampin' Up! no longer has the blendabilities and sometimes I would like an alcohol marker in a specific Stampin' Up! color, I do it myself. I have been filling my aqua brush with alcohol and color my images with reinkers when I need a specific color. Here is a card I made with this technique. I love the softness of the colors and the way the stamp can be used as a background.

Cardstock: Whisper White, Watermelon Wonder
Ink: Memento black, Reinkers: Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Watermelon Wonder, Garden Green, Soft Sky, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: Pool Party Glitter Ribbon

Sweet Slice How To Video

In my last post, I promised a video on how to create the bigger basket using the cutie pie thinlit die set. You can create a basket with just the basic concept of the cake slice or making it bigger.

Here it is...the how-to video on creating the basket using the cutie pie thinlit die set.

I hope you enjoyed this video. Be sure to subscribe to my blog on the left hand side so you never miss a project. You can also subscribe to my YouTube channel (stampinkwithfarida) to keep up with videos I post. See you next time!

Sweet Slice

The cutie pie thinlit has been such a hit with plenty of ideas showing up by Stampin' Up! demonstrators. The basic idea of this die set is to create a birthday cake slice as a party favor.

Well I wanted to have another use for this die set where I can use it for different occasions. I was inspited by a fellow demonstrator who used the basic form but removed the closure portions for this. I actually doubled the size of the basket.

Interested in doing this yourself? Well, I will have a video for you in my next post. Be sure to subscribe to my blog and YouTube channel (stampinkwithfarida) so you don't miss a post. Stay tuned.

More Love to Spread

There's always time and room to spread more love. Hearts don't have to be feminine in pinks and reds only...take a look at the black and white for a masculine card.

This card is a kraft base, layer of whisper white, then layer of real red stamped with the flowers from the Bloomin' Love stamp set in the Occasions catalog. Once stamped, you can punch and die cut hearts out of this layer (use punch outs on other cards). Use any stamp the stamp the white cardstock behind the empty heart spaces before adhering the red layer, then add your sentiment.

This is not your standard A2 card, but rather a beautiful 6x6. Remember, you can always make your own envelope using the envelope punch board (133774). Yes, the black glimmer paper is retired, but you can still ink your Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper with black ink, or any other masculine color you wish to use.

Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Kraft, Real Red
DSP: It's My Birthday DSP paper stack
Stamps: Bloomin' Love, Groovy Love
Ink: Real Red, Rose Red, Memento Black

Birthday Bash

One of the most popular items in the new Occasions catalog has been the birthday section. New embossing folder, punches, pop up dies, DSP, stamps...all amazing! Here are a couple of birthday cards we did for class a few weeks ago using birthday items.

These cards are both pop up cards on the inside. They both showcase different stamp sets used with coordinating dies or punches. The beautiful Confetti embossing folder goes really well with the It's My Party DSP paper stack. The versatility of this embossing folder is wonderful because it does not only have to be used for birthday...think congratulations, new year, retirement party, etc.

Stamps:  Party Wishes, Number of Years
Cardstock: Whisper White
DSP: It's My Party DSP paper stack
Punches/Dies: Party Punch Pack, Party Pop-Up Thinlits Dies, Large Numbers Framelits Dies
Embossing: Confetti Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
Tools: Big Shot

With Love

Don't you just love this Bloomin' Heart Thinlit?

I used the retired black glimmer paper (holiday catalog) for the above card. It turned out so elegant in my favorite color scheme ever...black and white! The background on this card is a checkerboard effect I did using the diagonal plate on the score tool and scoring at 1/2" apart between the lines (placing rhinestone on all intersections).

This card shows the checkerboard effect in more detail on the black cardstock. For this card, I used the Bloomin' Love stamp set from the new Occasions catalog.

Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Real Red
Stamps: Bloomin' Love
Dies/Punches: Bloomin' Heart thinlt, Sweetheart punch, circle card thinlit
Tools: Big Shot, Precison Plate, Simply Scored, Simply Scored Diagonal Plate
Accessories: Rhinestone Basic Jewels

3D Rose & Inlay Techniques

I am back with another technique video using the Rose Garden framelits. This is a mini album I completed a while back and did not know what to do with the cover for a pop of color. Well, now I know what it needed, and I love how it turned out.
In this video you will see the inlay technique as well as crating a 3 dimensional flower using the die set. This is a 2 part video, so be sure to watch both videos for all the information.
