One of my dear friends celebrates her birthday tomorrow, but decided to bring an ice-cream cake to class so she can celebrate her birthday with my older daughter, Summer whose birthday was last week. We had a great time stamping, and then yummy cake. Here are a couple of the cards we made in class today, and then some fun pics of everyone around the cake.

Magazine Card Holders

Since I was on a roll, I kept going with standard sized magazine holders for card sets. It all started with the cards. Whenever I work on a class and end up with scraps, I try to use them all up so I have nothing laying around my table. Well, once the cards were all done, I had those laying around my desk LOL! I decided to just go ahead and finish them up as "ready to go" gifts just in case I need them. I create a magazine holder for each set. I am posting the holders here with a photo of one of the card sets, and I will post the individual cards for the second holder in the next few posts.

Cardstock: Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White
DSP: Fresh Prints Paper Stack
Stamps: Another Great Year, Petal Parade, Love You to the Moon
Ink Smoky Slate, Basic Black, Real Red

March Paper Pumpkin

This Paper Pumpkin kit was such fun. I enjoyed working my own ideas into these cards. I am loving the fact that the Paper Pumpkin stamps are now sent to us as clear photopolymer. In this month's kit it made it so easy to line everything up to finish the stamping. My wood pieces were so fun to make. See the directions below the photo.

1. Do your stamping on all 8 cards with the ink spots provided in the kit or your own colors.
2. Now you will work on all the wood pieces you want to be the same color by completely covering each of your wood pieces with Versamark ink.
3. Sprinkle your color of choice embossing powder onto the inked wood pieces and heat emboss. NOTE: In this step, be sure to keep your heat tool moving; remove it from the wood piece if you have to. You do not want your wood piece to chip from the heat.
4. Once each wood piece has cooled off, you will add Versamark in on each piece again, and you will emboss a second layer of embossing powder.
5. Adhere your wood pieces to the cards, and move on to the wood pieces you want done in a different color embossing powder.
6. Finish your cards with the gold circle stickers provided in the kit, or you can use candy dots...which I remembered after I finished LOL!

Candy Dispenser

I had a template for this box, but whenever I printed it, it kept cutting parts off. I could not get the template to help me out for anything...AAARGH!!!  I ended up creating my own candy dispenser size using a full 12x12 sheet of card stock. I am very happy with the outcome. The Background White piece of card stock was stamped with one of the stamps from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.

Stamps: People Like You, Gorgeous Grunge
Cardstock: Memlon Mambo, Whisper White
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Black StazOn
Markers: Blushing Bride, Strawberry Slush, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi

Flower Box Card

Here is my version of the card in a box. I changed the dimensions I have seen online so that I would end up with a standard card to fit our standard envelopes. I also created a very large card in a box, but figured the Envelope Punch Board will be my savior on that one.

Stamps: Happy Watercolor, Backyard Basics, Peaceful Petals
Cardstock: Sahara Sand, Whisper White
DSP: Sweet Sorbet
Markers: Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral, Soft Sky, Coastal Cabana, Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum, Wild Wasabi, Baked Brown Sugar, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake
Ink Pads: Black StazOn, Crushed Curry, Coastal Cabana

Mom's Birthday Card

While I was working on my next set of card samples for class, I decided to keep going with the same stamp sets I was using. My mom likes these soft colors, so I took it all the way by creating a pop-up card for her birthday on the 18th...not worried; mom doesn't do internet LOL!

Boxes, Baskets, and Bags Oh MY!!!

I have finally sat down to really tackle the envelope punch board to work on some gift/favor boxes lately, and once I got started...well, you can guess the rest. It all started out very innocent and on a small scale, and then it turned into...
This is not even every single combination or configuration I came up with; it is only what I was able to fit into the photo LOL. Every time I folded a certain way, I got an idea to fold a different way to get a different look from the same measurements. Who said we only have to use the envelope punch board for envelopes or card boxes? I guess, the sky's the limit with this tool!!!
I have a tutorial available in my tutorial page HERE.
