Bows, Bows, Bows!

I have been spending so much time playing with my Big Shot; I think it needs a break...lol. My friend Susan made some bows, and she inspired me to sit down and play with the new Gift Bow Bigz L Die in the new holiday catalog. I will never have to buy another bow again! Here are some of the bows I made using DSP and card stock.

A few people emailed me asking how to use the die, so I made a short video for the assembly of the basic bows pictured on the instruction sheet that comes with the die. The video is only for the basic bows pictured and not all the variations I have made.

I hope you all find this video helpful, and please email me if you have any other questions.

New Photopolymer Stamp Sets

We've searched long and hard for just the right material to be able to introduce completely clear stamping. And we've found it. We're excited to announce that we now have wood-mount, clear-mount AND photopolymer stamps! The new photopolymer will be an addition to our stamp line and will appeal to all types of stampers. Our top-quality photopolymer has just enough give to create a perfectly stamped image every time and with the introduction of our firm-foam pads, let's just say they're meant for each other! Photopolymer stamps will also be unique, fun designs that will inspire you and provide more versatile options you may not see in our traditional wood- and clear-mount stamp options.
What makes them so great?
  • They're entirely transparent for perfect placement every time!
  • They are durable. The photopolymer material is designed to last.
  • Can you say sticky? (Don't worry; in a good way.) These stamps stick amazingly well to our clear blocks.
  • They're age tested. They won't yellow or cloud up over time.
  • We could go on, but we'll let you try them for yourself.

Stampin' Up! is pulling out all the stops with their photopolymer stamp sets. They barely release this amazing travel pair of stamp sets, and then go ahead to release a cute Halloween set called Bite Me (item #134622). There are quite a few more sets, including MY favorite called Another Thank You (item #133454). You can view all the sets HERE and order your favorites.
Map It Out stamp set item #134620 $13.95
Greetings From stamp set item #134621 $13.95

Farida's Reasons for Loving Photopolymer

  • Sometimes we wish we could fix a mistake in our stamping because we just don't like how it came out. Well, now we don't need to fuss with fixing anything because we can see exactly where our stamp is going the second time around. All you have to do is just reink your stamp and stamp it right over the first impression you made.
  • I am not obligated to buy every single set that comes out, just the ones I really love.
  • I can store my stamps in the Stampin' Up! wood mount OR clear mount cases.
  • No more fussing with my Stamp-a-ma-jig when I don't have to.

Birthday Tags Card

This card was inspired by a paper bag project my amazing upline, Becky, created. I decided to take the idea in a different direction, so I created a full card where the front is a two-pocket card front that holds tags.
Here is a photo of 4 of the tags I created for this card. It was such a fun idea that I forgot what I was doing, and I ended up making 6 tags before I realized they were not all going to fit into the pockets of the card. If you make one, just keep in mind the pockets can only hold so many tags (depending on their size)...especially if you are mailing this card to someone.

Stamps: Yippee Skippee, Sketched Birthday
Ink (markers & pads): Raspberry Ripple, Gumball Green, Tempting Turquoise, Summer Starfruit, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Blushing Bride, Pool Party
DSP: Birthday Basics
Cardstock: Whisper White, Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit, Tempting Turquoise, Raspeberry Ripple
Tools: Ticket Duo Builder Punch, Bitty Banners Framelits, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch
Accessories: 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon Primrose Petal

Amazing Class Today

We had a wonderful time during class today making this mini album. The ladies were a delight to have over. I did want to address a question from  some emails I have received about not being able to attend and still wanting to make an album of your own. Well, there is a solution; for those of you who would like to make your own mini album, you can head over to my tutorials tab to purchase a written copy. Once you go through the Paypal process, Paypal will send me an email so I know to email you the tutorial. I am actually working on another version which I hope to have posted here soon, so stay tuned.
Here is a short clip of what the entire album looks like. In the pocket page, you can add anything you like. I just made a few tags to work with the scraps I had so I don't cut anymore sheets of paper.

Paper Flower Video

Fun, Fun, Fun! I have a great time making my own flowers for my projects. Adding as little or as much ink in your sponging gives a different look even if you are using the same color. These were all made using Real Red to sponge the petal edges. Another idea is to initially punch your flowers out in colored cardstock and use a contrasting ink color to sponge the petal edges.
Cardtsock: Whisper White
Ink: Real Red
Punches: Blossom, Pansy, Fancy Flower, Bird Builder
Here is the video tutorial I promised.

Once you make one flower, you will be hooked. It is such an easy-to-remember technique that you can use almost any Stampin' Up! flower punch to create these beauties. Try these out and visit my Facebook page to let me know what you think under the post for these flowers.
